Bill Lamp'l

PADI Course Director

Bill is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Miami for the past 15 years. Bill founded Grove Scuba in 2006 and is currently a PADI Course Director. Bill is a CPR and First Aid Instructor Trainer, as well as a DAN Instructor Trainer who is actively involved in diver safety training.


In addition to teaching new divers and instructors, Bill's passion is underwater photography. He loves to travel to exotic destinations around the globe in search of the perfect photo. He regularly writes articles for underwater photography publications and you can see his work in magazines around the world including: National Geographic, Scuba Diving Magazine, Sport Diver, and many others.


David Lamp'l

PADI IDC Staff Instructor

David is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Miami in 2006 to help get Grove Scuba up and running. He is one of the original members of the Scuba Diving family. David became a PADI Open Water Instructor in 2008 and is currently one of Grove Scuba's lead instructors. David has a passion for diving and teaching his students. He is patient and has a way to get even the most timid student comfortable in the water.


David loves technology and he always has the latest electronics, gadgets, and of course dive gear. When he's not lugging dive gear and tanks, you'll find him on his custom motorcycle. David also has one of the best ocean inspired tattoos out there.

Viktoria Grossman

Manager and PADI Divemaster

Originally from small town in Vermont, Viktoria moved down to Miami in 2017 to study Marine Science and Biology at the University of Miami and continued on to get her Master of Professional Science degree in Exploration Science. Now, you can typically find her helping out at the shop, studying for classes, or out on a dive. 


Maddy Quirke-Shattuck

Manager and PADI Divermaster

Born and raised in California, Maddy completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Science at Connecticut College before moving to the Canary Islands, Spain, to complete a Fulbright Fellowship. She has a passion for working with children in the field of experiential outdoor education and is currently pursuing a Master of Professional Science in Marine Conservation from the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Maddy's favorite places to dive are the Bahamas and the Galápagos Islands. 


Bianca Banato

Equipment Technician and PADI Open Water Instructor

Bianca was born in Miami, Florida and grew up with a love of the ocean sparked by underwater bedtime stories from her two diver parents. She can be found in the back, working on tanks and popping in to help customers out, or guiding around the beautiful sites Miami and Key Largo have to offer. 

Matt Taylor

PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Shop Associate

Matt is originally from Bristol, Connecticut and moved to Miami in 2021 for graduate studies in
Underwater Archaeology at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School. He has been diving
since he was 10 years old and has been a PADI instructor since 2012. When he is not instructing
or in the shop, he can be found diving for school or for fun or catching lobstah.

Cora McKean

Shop Associate

Cora is originally from West Virginia. She fell in love with scuba diving when she moved to Miami in 2019. When she's not diving in Miami, you can find her working on boats in Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska.


Brad Tamm

PADI Instructor

Originally a professional mechanic from Detroit, who ran the Porsche service department for 13 years, Brad is now enjoying more time under the water than under the hood. Brad handles many of Grove Scuba's business acquisition projects and is the leader in our international expansion initiatives. If you need a great instructor, great porsche mechanic, or advice on the best international diving, Brad is your man.


  Darrell Hejde

PADI IDC Staff Instructor and Tech Instructor

Darrell Hejde has been diving since 1995 and has fallen in love with all aspects of the sport…recreational and technical. He’s originally from Oklahoma but, as a military brat and military pilot himself has lived in many, many places and traveled the world extensively. He is a retired international airline pilot and now teaches diving full time. He was trained by Grove Scuba as an Open Water Instructor in 2010 and since then has expanded his horizons.

Darrell is Grove Scuba’s Technical diving expert and teaches PADI's Tec Diving programs. Darrell has a lot of experience diving Rebreathers and is a PADI Tec 40 CCR (Rebreather) Instructor on the Hollis Prism 2 Rebreather. Come learn to dive the “silent world” of Rebreathing. Underwater photography is his passion and his favorite specialty but he teaches over 14 other specialties. As a certified Cave Diver, he also offers the PADI Cavern Diver specialty. If you have questions about any aspect of diving…Darrell will try to answer them for you.
